Update for Sunday (4/12/2020)
This Sunday, it looks as though we can continue to be in compliance with the county and state.
As we look forward to this Sunday, let us remember the following things:
1. Try to diligently keep a safe distance when talking with each other. I have seen recommendations for 6 feet. I believe we can have meaningful conversations with each other and maintain a safe 6 feet distance. Remember, you may be a carrier without any symptoms.
2. Let us refrain from any physical contact. Remember, you may be contagious even if you have no symptoms.
3. Let us diligently strive to keep our children with us and away from others. The playground will not be open this Sunday. Each family should strive to keep their children away from other children. (Message Jessi with any ideas)
4. Let us strive to limit our circle of contacts during the week. If you plan to meet with us on the Lord's Day, you will want to eliminate most other contacts throughout the week to limit the spread of COVID-19.
5. We will plan to be outside so bring blankets or chairs to sit in. I would encourage each family to keep a safe distance from other families.
6. Let us pray diligently for each other.
Remember, I will be uploading the sermon online on Sunday afternoon for those who would like to listen at home.

Update for Sunday (4/5/2020)
The state of Florida has issued an Executive Order (20-91) this week. Ron Desantis, the Governor of the State of Florida has given an exemption for religious institutions to continue to meet. In section 3 of the Executive Order 20-91, attending religious services is considered essential and is exempted from the "safer-at-home mandate. You can read the full order here. I believe that we can meet this week and be in compliance to the state of Florida and Hillsborough County.
Another concern is safety. Can we meet safely? I confess, that I do not have all the answers on this. Certainly, it is safer to stay at home. In addition, there are going to be those who have specific health issues that should not gather. This is going to be an issue that each family must wrestle with personally. I believe that we can meet this week with a low-risk factor, if we follow the guidelines from the previous weeks. As COVID-19 continues to spread, we may have to cancel because the risk will be too high.
In addition to the recommendations from previous weeks, the Government is now recommending masks. If you have a mask, feel free to wear it during fellowship time.
Again, we will meet outside, so plan to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on.

Update for Sunday (3/29/2020)
Hillsborough County has issued a "Safer-at-Home" order. According to the Hillsborough County website, I believe we are in compliance with their "Safer-at-Home" order. In the section on non-essentials, the Hillsborough County website states the following:
"Non-essential businesses that are unable to maintain the required physical distancing (6 feet) to keep employees and customers safe, must close."
This means that non-essential businesses who are able to comply with social distancing (6 feet) are able to remain open. (I would argue that a church is essential, but for sake of argument, even if we were non-essential we can stay open).
Again, this is a conscience issue. Each person must wrestle with this topic and be gracious towards others who have decided to take a different approach.
Again, we will meet outside, so plan to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on.

Update for Sunday (3/22/2020)
As we prepare for the Lord's Day, let us diligently labor to be gracious one towards another. We are in difficult times. There are some whose health is vulnerable and they should not leave their homes. There are some whose conscience will not let them leave their homes. Let us strive to live for the audience of one as we prepare for the Lord's Day--this may look different for each of us. What you do tomorrow, may it be as unto the Lord.
Let us remember the following things.
3. Let us diligently strive to keep our children with us and away from others. This will be difficult, but I think we can do this.
4. Let us strive to limit our circle of contacts during the week. If you plan to meet with us on the Lord's Day, you will want to eliminate most other contacts throughout the week to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Dear fellow brothers and sisters in Christ,
I want to remind you that you have been in my thoughts and prayers. I'm praying for your health and for the spread of the Gospel.
In light of the National COVID-19 Pandemic, we are still in the process of figuring out how we, as a church, should respond long term. Right now, we are planning on continuing to meet on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights for those who feel comfortable meeting. On Sunday mornings we are planning to meet outside in the back yard at 9:30 am. We would ask each family to bring blankets to sit on and water bottles to stay hydrated. We believe that sitting outside will enable us to keep a healthy distance. Directly following the morning service, we will have our "Knowing God" time. Fellowship time will follow "Knowing God" time for those who are comfortable staying. In addition, we would ask that everyone avoid any physical contact. Those who are experiencing symptoms of illness should plan to stay home.
Concerning the Lord's Supper, we would prefer to continue to observe the Lord's Supper with some precautions. We would encourage everyone to bring hand sanitizer and wash hands before partaking of the Lord's Supper. We will prepare beforehand by using a glove to break the wafer into family sizes and put it in ziplock bags. Each family will take their bag and then break the wafer into as many pieces as are needed for their family. I will plan on holding the tray of juice while each person takes their juice from the tray. (I will continue to hold the tray, so there is no need to touch the tray).
If you do not feel you should come, that is a decision each person must make and no one will be looked down for whatever decision he or she chooses is best. As always, the sermons will be posted online for those who prefer to listen online during this time.
