Dan Benitez grew up in the Tampa Bay area before going to school in South Carolina. While working on his Master of Divinity degree he met and then married Jessica. Their 5 children - Micaiah, Joshua, Caleb, Adelei, and Timothy - keep them very busy.
Although Calvary holds to a plurality of elders, at the inauguration of this local body the church eagerly awaits another elder. When Paul left Titus in Crete, Titus was instructed to ordain elders in each church. For Paul, it was completely normal to plant a church with the intention of having a plurality in the near future.
During his spare time Dan enjoys reading systematic and Biblical theology. Wayne Grudem, D.A. Carson, Augustine, Henry Scougal, and A.W. Tozer are among Dan's favorite authors.
Dan's union with Christ and passages like Romans 8 bring a great deal of encouragement. "There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus" sums up the hope that is found in Christ alone.
